Open since 2007, The Bomb is a unique Hair Salon in the fashionable North Laine. What began as a quirky salon for people who hated going to the hairdressers, has grown and matured from a two person Aladdin's cave of 80s game and comic memorabilia to a one-person private room, just meters away from it's original address. The salon is still lovingly adorned with flavours of its predecessor, and is always welcoming of every soul who crosses the threshold with equal patience and warmth. Low maintenance cuts is my mantra.

At The Bomb you can fulfill a number of different styling desires from creative and bold, to functional or classic and most importantly, low maintenence. In addition to this from the moment you are in the chair the space is yours, and you are welcomed to talk and offload, or simply steal some much needed peace.
Cutting
From £27
A quick chat about what you want and what your needs are and I will cut your hair how you want it. Don't worry if you don't know how to ask for what you want; I will ask the right questions and identify what you want from your answers. Feel free to bring pictures to help convey what you like. Cuts are priced by the hair length at the time of booking - and never by gender.
Pattern Work
From £13
Bring pictures, text me ideas or just leave me to design something myself. If you want something specific, message me with pictures or pop in to discuss ideas, and I will get drawing. I will need to see the undercut area to assess the space and hair type, so that I can make any adjustments necessary to accommodate the pattern.
Children's Cuts
From £22
I offer cuts of all kinds to under-12s for the fixed price of £22. If your child has long, or particularly thick hair, or they would like a restyle let me know in a note on the booking so I can add some extra time to the booking.
Quiet Hours
Availability is prioritised for, but not exclusive to people who are neuro non-typical.
If you would like to have a haircut in an otherwise empty salon, with the option of no music, no talking, and with an unlit room between you and the window to the world outside please text me on 07895868734 Appointments will be limited to Saturday afternoons, from 16.30 Any other requests will be considered, to help make it a sensory-considerate experience for you.
Every cut includes a free consultation and free advice with aftercare, plus tips on styling and product choice.

I used to be really anxious to the point of phobic about getting my hair cut but a friend introduced me to The Bomb a few years ago when they had the shop. I loved that but I actually like the new setup more. It's something intangible to describe but makes me feel happy and comfortable like I am back in an authentic Brighton that has been disappearing for a while, but somehow heroically remains in some parts of the North Laine. Caroline has always cut my hair beautifully and made me feel at ease. Next time I am adding a pattern that she has mocked up for me and has totally got the look that I wanted from a brief conversation. I think her charges are extremely reasonable because you are getting a service and experience as well as a really good haircut!

Caroline is a brilliant barber who easily understands exactly what you want. As an anxious person who has struggled with other hairdressers for my cut to not be "feminised" when I look for a short, more masculine cut, I was delighted with Caroline's care and understanding.The Bomb is located at the back of another barbers and has a warm, friendly honest atmosphere. I was pleased to be able to bring my dog with me, even if he cried because he thought he was getting his haircut too! Highly recommend.
